Rena’s Ride to the MAPS Military Aviation Museum

Rena will take us to the Maps Museum in Green near Canton. MAPS, the Military Aviation Preservation Society is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to educating people about the history of military aviation.  Ride details to come

    Meet at Circle K, corner of Route 82 and Route 83, at 8:30. Kickstands up at 9. Joe Jackson will be leading a ride through Amish country. Expect cheese, smoked meats, ice cream. And poop, a plethora of poop (on the roads, we hope).

    [caption id="" align="alignright" width="296"] Chief Leatherlips[/caption] This Saturday, we'll be taking a long, beautiful ride down to Dubiln, OH to see the Chief Leatherlips monument and to the Hartman Rock Garden in Springfield, OH The Rock Garden is a collection of the amazing and diverse rock sculptures built by one man that you may ever see. Ben Hartman got laid off in 1932 and started building a rock fish pond and kept going, adding a castle, a cathedral,  Mt Vernon, a tree of life, Independence Hall, several religious scenes, patriotic monuments and fairy tale fantasies. [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="300"]Hartman Rock Garden Hartman Rock Garden[/caption] We will start at Luna's Restaurant, 33 W Aurora Rd, in Northfield at 8am for breakfast, kickstands up at 9 a.m. We will wend our way down some nice roads to 42 and take 42 to Dublin where we'll ride along the Scioto River to visit the chief then take 40 into Springfield. Since going down, including lunch and the stops will take about 5-6 hours, we'll take the freeway back so we can still arrive home somewhere between 6 and 7 after ice cream at Country Maid.

    We will meet in Yours Truly in Valley View at 7 a.m., kick stands up at 8. We will be taking a ride down to Tappan Lake (just past New Philly) and will ride into Carrolton for lunch at the old train depot. Be forewarned, there is gravel in the parking lot. This ride is about 200 to 250 miles.
